Maybe I'm too nostalgic about this gadget but it makes me sad that such a cool, inexpensive, useful gadget can be killed off just because it doesn't fit the product mix of a mega-company who acquired it and then got buyers remorse. At any rate you should know David Pogue one of the tech writers at the New York Times. His columns are hip, funny, and by my yardstick spot on. Check out his videos, too.
Oh NO! I just read the article about the death of the flip and how a new one was about to be introduced and it would grant access to live broadcasting on the internet. In light of the movie that we made in class just last week and my introduction to the Flip, I'm just as traumatized/upset as you Prof. Heigle. My only condolence is that I can probably go to Walmart of Best Buy and quickly get one at a reduced price because it seems to be worth the investment. As the writer of the NY times article said, "Rest in pieces"...sigh.
ReplyDeleteps: Prof....how do you add a "hot link" to your site without just copying the URL? Please let me know.
ReplyDeleteLet me know, too, please! And MrsAkoi, the cheapest NEW flip camera I've found is $109 which includes Amazon and the actual flip website (www.theflip.com).
