New to me...

Just a quick post to introduce a new site that I discovered today. I found it while navigating through the ISTE site... it's the Xtranormal (http://www.xtranormal.com/) site where you can make movies just by typing text (and adding a few other bits). Really cool, now we need to make a list of educational uses. Who wants to be first? See my first attempt posted here: http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/11541161

  1. The xtranormal site is quite nice. I loiked the mini-movie with the Einstein figure and I'm trying to think how I am going to utilize this tool in my classroom. I work with elementary and middle school students, so I know they'll be easily excited by this. Akoi

  3. I really like this tool. I would use it to make short social stories for my preschool students. They love anything new they can do or watch on the computer. It really holds their interest.

  4. I loved this tool, and I know that I would like to use it to create an intro to a new lesson, or communicate information that I want the students to pay close attention to. Kindergarteners enjoy anything animated, and this would both interest and keep them engaged!

  6. I really like this tool and believe my eighth graders would also enjoy it. I am definitely going to have my students use this before schools out...just not sure what with yet.

  7. I thinks this is a great idea for older students to play with and for teachers to use with younger students to introduce new topics. I was hoping I could set up specific music and type in lyrics for the characters to sing and dance, but I if it's possible, I haven't figured it out yet. However, I do believe that it would be great to encourage dialogue comprehension by actually writing the dialogue and making it work with the characters. I would LOVE to do this as a directing foray with my drama camps in the summer!

  8. I agree with all of you about how cool that site is. Did anyone try to use it, though? I tried to create a movie and it said it costs money - booo!! Did anyone else run into that?
